Why we offer this tool: BuzzIQ Labs built it as a free resource for B2B SaaS teams, and it reflects what we look at when we review pages for AI answer readiness. We also offer services in this area, so you may see a related offer alongside your results.
How it works: it checks the structure of the content you paste, in your browser, against the published nine-part rubric on this page. It does not visit your site, query any AI engine, or measure rankings or citations.
Please note: the score is a general guide, not a guarantee of citations, traffic or results, and it is not professional advice. Your pasted content is not uploaded or stored. We count anonymous usage events only.
What makes a page easy for AI to quote
AI engines build answers from passages they can lift cleanly. A page that opens with a direct answer, keeps each paragraph to one idea and marks up its facts is far easier to quote than one that makes the reader, or the model, dig. This tool checks those signals on a page you choose and shows you the passage an engine would most likely lift.
Every score comes from a published rubric, so you can see exactly why a page lost points and what to change.
The nine-part rubric
100 points across nine observable checks.
| Check | Points | What we look at |
|---|---|---|
| Answer-first placement | 20 | The answer sits near the top in a self-contained passage of 30 to 90 words that opens directly. |
| Heading structure | 12 | One H1, no skipped levels, question-style subheadings and sections that stay short. |
| Chunk length | 12 | Share of paragraphs under 90 words, paragraphs over 140 words, and average sentence length. |
| Question alignment | 10 | The H1, a subheading and the opening paragraph reuse the wording of the target question. |
| Lists and tables | 10 | Lists for steps and options, tables for comparisons, and how often they appear. |
| Fact density and sourcing | 10 | Numbers per 100 words, named entities, and cited or linked sources. |
| Structured data | 10 | Article, FAQ or QA, Organization or Person, breadcrumb schema and valid JSON-LD (HTML only). |
| Definition blocks | 8 | A clear X is Y sentence in the first paragraphs and a What is section with a short answer. |
| Author and freshness | 8 | Visible byline and date, plus machine-readable author and date markup. |

Frequently asked questions
What is AEO page extractability?
Extractability is how easily an AI engine can lift a clean, self-contained answer from a page. Pages that open with a direct answer, use clear headings, short paragraphs, lists and tables, and back claims with specifics are easier to quote than pages that bury the answer in long, general copy.
Does a high score guarantee AI engines will cite my page?
No. The score measures page structure against a published rubric. It does not query ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini or Google, and citations also depend on the strength of your site, third-party mentions and what the engine retrieves for a given prompt. Use the score to find and fix structural problems, then measure citations separately.
Why do I have to paste the page instead of entering a URL?
Web browsers do not let a page on one site read the content of another site, and we do not want to send your content through a server. Pasting the HTML keeps the tool free, fast and private, and it also lets you score pages that are not public yet, such as drafts and staging pages.
How do I copy my page’s HTML?
Open the page, press Ctrl+U (Cmd+Option+U on a Mac) to view the source, select all and copy. If your page is built with JavaScript and the source looks nearly empty, open the browser inspector, right-click the html element in the Elements tab and choose Copy, then Copy outerHTML. You can also paste plain text, though schema and author checks are skipped.
How is the score calculated?
Nine checks add up to 100 points: answer-first placement (20), heading structure (12), chunk length (12), question alignment (10), lists and tables (10), fact density and sourcing (10), structured data (10), definition blocks (8) and author and freshness (8). The table on this page lists what each check looks at. If a check cannot be assessed, such as schema for pasted text, the score is scaled to the checks that could be.
What counts as the answer passage?
The tool compares each paragraph and list to the key terms in your target question and picks the closest match, favouring passages that appear early, read like a definition and are not too long. It shows you that passage so you can judge it yourself.
Is my content stored or shared?
The page content you paste is processed in your browser and is not sent to BuzzIQ Labs servers. We may record anonymous usage counts, such as the score band, to improve the tool, but never the text you paste.
What should I do after I get my score?
Work through the fix list from the top, starting with the quick fixes, then paste the updated page and score again to see the change. Once the structure is sound, measure whether your brand is mentioned and cited for the target question. BuzzIQ Labs can help you refresh your most important pages and track the result.
